The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) is the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer advocacy organization, with more than 1 million members throughout the country. HRC is a bipartisan organization that works to advance equality based on sexual orientation and gender expression and identity, to ensure that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans can be open, honest and safe at home, at work and in the community. HRC also creates educational resources and outreach programs for corporate America as well as for all members of the general population who are committed to fairness and equality.
Founded in 1980, HRC effectively lobbies Congress, provides campaign support to candidates for federal office and works to educate the public on a wide array of topics affecting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans, including workplace, family and discrimination issues. HRC has established one of the most respected public policy and field operations among Washington-based advocacy organizations and the mainstream civil rights community.
The Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are ensured equality and embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
